I cut an avocado in half…

… and I liked it.

Because I grew up in a small town in the north of the Adriatic sea, I have not even seen an avocado before going to the capital for studies. Hell, I have not heard of avocado before going for studies. Studies at the Faculty of Food Technology and Biotechnology, mind you.

This is why, for me, slicing an avocado is exotic. It is as exotic as basil pesto is exotic for the Scottish guy at the Great British bake-off. And this is why, when Jamie Oliver cuts an avocado in half, it looks cool and exotic, and I want to do it.

For some reason, I have not done it before. Until now.

It was fatty and delicious, just as Jamie Oliver promised.
