What we cooked last week

… well, not so much, unfortunately. It so happened that we were eating out on most of the evenings. I did get some quality time in the kitchen on a few of the days.

Saturday: dinner party with friends. For this dinner party we went with a bit of a “tour of the Europe” theme. For a starter, we had a Heirloom Tomato, Zucchini, Caramelized Onion and Feta Galette. The recipe in the link is wonderful, but the timings are woefully misguided: the preparation time will extend beyond an hour, as you must caramelize the onions, and the galette needs to bake for over half an hour. Still, it turned out beautiful. For the main, we made chicken piccata. Simple, but really beautiful. For dessert, we served the Greece-inspired walnut tarts with Basler Läckerli ice cream.

Sunday lunch: pita breads stuffed with chicken.

Sunday dinner: Spiced beef tagine, inspired by a recipe in Save with Jamie.
